The EBSCOhost databases are the services of EBSCO Publishing, the most prolific aggregator of full text journals and other sources. They provide bibliographical and full text databases.
Nearly 8.000 special periodicals are available through EBSCOhost in the Central Library. It is supported by the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage.
Some new information
Our readers with library membership cards can use the databases online in the Sociological reading room (4th floor) and the e-reading room (5th floor). They can save the articles to floppies bought in the library, print them or send them to an E-mail address. The search field can be represented in English, French and German.
Academic Search Premier
It is the largest scholarly, multi-discipline full text database in the world designed specifically for academic institutions. The resource indexes over 4300 periodicals and contains full text for over 3400 scholarly publications. This collection provides full text journal coverage for nearly all academic areas of study (social sciences, arts, literature, education etc).
Business Source Premier
It contains the reports and indexes of the articles of 4128 economic and business journals.
It provides the content of the most popular periodicals of general reference, business and multi-culture. It includes more than 1,800 full text journals.
It contains full text for 23 American and international dailies. In addition, it provides selected full text for 183 regional U.S. newspapers (The Washington Post, The Miami Herald etc).
Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition
It provides nearly 590 scholarly full text journals focusing on medical disciplines. Indexing and abstracts for more than 625 periodicals are also featured. Coverage of nursing is particularly strong.
Health Source: Consumer Edition
It is a rich collection of consumer health information including nearly 300 journals. it covers topics such as drugs and alcohol, fitness and healthy nutrition.
It contains many references to journal articles in the health sciences (biology, medical sciences). Coverage of basic research and the clinical sciences is broad, and includes medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine etc. The information comes from more than 3,900 journals in 40 different languages.
It is the world’s largest source of education information, containing abstracts of documents and journal articles on education research and practice. In addition, it includes reports and bibliographical data of nearly 1,000 education-related journals.
